Man accused of tampering with saline laxatives at CVS Pharmacy indicted
A 34-year-old Jacksonville man has been indicted on charges of with tampering with consumer products.
Prosecutors said Ronald Robinson bought several pre-packaged CVS Pharmacy ready-to-use enemas from the store in the 9500 block of San Jose Boulevard between April 10 and June 15. After using the enemas, Robinson resealed the items and returned them to CVS for refunds, claiming they were unused, prosecutors said.
Several of the used enemas were returned to CVS shelves and re-sold to unsuspecting customers, prosecutors said.
Investigators believe all customers have been notified of the tainted purchases. Proscutors said CVS has fully cooperated in the investigation and in the notification of potential victims.
If convicted, Robinson faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
