Deadly Shooting on Westside makes this year most deadly year in a decade.

Homicide detectives are investigating after 22-year-old man was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds along Jammes Road early Friday morning.

Police identified the victim as Patrice Lamar Sherman.

Police said someone passing by saw the body in a ditch about 7:15 a.m. and called 911.

"There are several shell casings on the sidewalk next to the victim. He apparently has been shot," said to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sgt. Jay Farhat.

On Saturday, police identified the victim as Patrice Lamar Sherman.

Police questioned people in the area, including residents of the nearby Treetop Apartments, hoping to find a witness to what happened.
