JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has issued an arrest warrant for a 27-year-old man on charges of attempted first-degree murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Joseph Chambers is wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting on Dec. 28 in the 5600 block of Bishop Lane in Lakewood in which a 3-year-old girl was struck in the foot.

Neighbors said the girl was hit by a bullet while lying on the sofa in a front room of the house. She was treated at a hospital and released.

There were 11 bullet holes in the home; five in the door, three to the left near the front windows and three to the right near porch windows.

A surveillance camera was mounted on a nearby home and neighbors said at the time they hoped that could help police in their investigation.

Chambers is described as a white man, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 210 pounds.

Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS to remain anonymous and be eligible for a possible reward.
