COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -

A Columbia County man was arrested Wednesday after fleeing deputies on foot.

Deputies tried to serve an arrest warrant on Brandon Hodge at a home in the 700 block of Southwest Buck Court in Fort White. He was being sought on charges of failure to register as a sex offender.

When deputies arrived at about 8:30 a.m., they said Hodge fled the home.

Deputies established a perimeter in the area and began searching for Hodge. K9 units from the Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Corrections spent about three hours tracking Hodge.

He was found near River Rise Park and taken into custody, then booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility without incident.

Hodge is also charged now with resisting arrest without violence. He's being held without bail.
