BAXLEY, Ga. -

A 26-year-old Appling County man has been arrested in his wife's death after telling police intruders killed her during a home invasion on Friday.

Police say Jonathon Courson was arrested Tuesday night in the death of his wife, Mandy.

Courson initially told police that two black males forced their way into the home, tied him and his wife up and later killed her. Courson also told police the intruders allowed him to feed his young daughter and put her back to sleep before they fled the scene.

Although Courson said he was tied up, authorities have said he called police and had minor cuts when they arrived. Police did not disclose details on how they identified Courson as a suspect.

Appling County is about 200 miles southeast of Atlanta.
