JACKSONVILLE, FLa. -

Police say a 37-year-old man who admitted to using crack cocaine and being very paranoid was arrested after he called 911 more than a dozen times Sunday night.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Leon Rodriguez first called 911 about a possible shooting at his Spring Park Road apartment. Officers who arrived said Rodriguez appeared very anxious and told them he thought someone was trying to break into his apartment because "someone giggled at the door knob."

He said he didn't know why he told the 911 operator he thought someone fired shots.

After the officers left, he called 911 again, but didn't speak. The report says this time he told responding officers he had taken crack cocaine and was paranoid. After the officers left with the warning not to call 911 again unless it was an emergency, dispatchers say he called more than 10 additional times and hung up.

Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Duval County jail on a charge of misuse of 911.
