Woman in Hess robbery
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Police are seeking information after they said two men and a woman were involved in the robbery of a Hess gas station employee on March 18.

Police said the woman approached the employee outside the store in the 7100 block of Blanding Boulevard about 3:45 a.m. and asked for a flashlight to help her look for her friend's money that was dropped in the parking lot.

The two men then approached from the area of a nearby Dumpster, police said. They said one of the men was carrying a long-barrel rifle and yelled for the employee to get on the ground before striking him in the jaw and chin with the stock of the rifle. The victim was able to flee into the store and contact police.

Police said the woman entered the store prior to the robbery attempt as was caught on surveillance video.

Anyone with any information on the identity or whereabouts of the robbers is asked to call the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
