METH LAB
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Several homes were evacuated Sunday afternoon after authorities discovered a meth lab in a neighborhood off St. Augustine Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said a domestic violence investigation led to the meth lab at 3715 Pine View Circle.

While taking the domestic violence suspect into custody at the home, police saw what they described as "a science experiment" inside and knew it was likely a meth lab.

About five surrounding home were evacuated.

"Right now on scene we have narcotics and they will go in and wait for the bomb squad, JFRD rescue and hazmat are all here. They will all go in together and dissemble the lab," said Lt. Jimmy Judge.

The suspect has been arrested on domestic violence charges and an outstanding warrant.

'We are still in the preliminary stages. Once they interview him he could very well be charged with the meth lab, but at this point he is not," said Judge.
