Missing man, 88, found safe Friday evening

KINGSLAND, Ga. -

An elderly man in Kingsland was located safe Friday night after walking away from his home, according to the Kingsland Police Department.

Ray "Buddy" Fletcher, 88, walked away from his residence on Eagle Boulevard around 5:20 p.m, according to police.

Many people joined in the search including friends, neighbors, Camden County deputies, search and rescue units, tracking dog teams, State Rangers, Georgia State Patrol, and Camden County Fire Rescue.

Around 11:15 p.m. two citizens using an ATV searching a wooded area approximately 250 yards from Fletcher's house located him. Fletcher appeared slightly disoriented, according to investigators.

Police would like to thank Kevin Dalton of Kingsland and James Durden of St. Marys for locating the missing man.
