ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -

A 17-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash with a pickup truck Wednesday night on State Road 16 near the intersection of International Golf Parkway.

St. Johns County Fire-Rescue said rescuers arrived at the scene within two minutes of getting the call about 9:50 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Scott Milton, of St. Augustine, was riding his motorcycle west on State Road 16 and the pickup driven by 43-year-old Melissa Marro was heading north on International Golf Parkway.

Troopers said Milton ran a red light at the intersection and was struck by the truck, which was making a left turn.

Milton, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

Marro and two teen passengers in the truck were not hurt.

The roads were closed in both directions most of the night.
