JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A 46-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash late Sunday night in Arlington, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said Anthony Feliciano and a passenger were riding east on Mayapple Road at Townsend Boulevard just before 11 p.m. when their motorcycle went off the shoulder of the road and struck a wood fence before crashing into a large crape myrtle tree.

Feliciano and the passenger were both thrown from the motorcycle.

Feliciano was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died. The passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Neither were wearing a helmet, police said.

Officers said their investigation is ongoing.
