JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The murder retrial for a man convicted of killing an 18-year-old co-worker in 2006 is underway.

Kyle Bass, 25, was convicted in 2007 of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Martaze DaShane Harris.

The two worked together at La Salsa Mexican restaurant in Regency, and the shooting happened inside the restaurant.

The motive was never clear.

The conviction was overturned in 2009 by an appeals court due to a technicality in a jury instruction.

La Salsa subsequently closed. Harris' mother filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the owner.
