JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl and the city of Jacksonville will present a New Year's Eve fireworks show to ring in the new year.

The show will start at midnight Jan. 1 on the downtown riverfront and will last about 10 minutes.

"This is an excellent chance to visit Jacksonville's downtown during one of the most exciting times of the year," Mayor Alvin Brown said in a news release.

Downtown will welcome fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Florida Gators coming to cheer on their teams at the Gator Bowl, which will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 2 at EverBank Field.
