OCALA, Fla. -

A Marion County man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of feeding his 2-month-old daughter bleach.

Carron Washington, 20, was charged with aggravated child abuse.

According to police, Washington said he poured bleach into the child's bottle and fed it to her in an effort to help her breathing problems.

The child was taken to Shands hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Her condition was not known.

Ocala police said the child's mother was awakened by loud crying around 2 a.m. Sunday and found Washington feeding the baby. The woman said she took the child, who then vomited, and she could smell bleach, according to police.

Washington was being held on no bond.
