Police say a 25-year-old man was shot and killed Friday morning on Jacksonville's Eastside in what homicide detectives believe was a drive-by shooting.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says officers dispatched to a report of shots fired near the intersection of Buckman and 26th streets at 8:48 a.m. found the victim's body in the street.   On Sunday evening, police identified the victim as Richard Michael Key.

"We have a couple of people who heard the shots, but no eyewitnesses at this point," JSO Sgt. Dan Janson said.

A white car, possibly with a spoiler on the trunk, was reported leaving the area at a high rate of speed after the shooting.

Police say they were just beginning to canvas the neighborhood hoping to find more witnesses and information.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
