Police: Firefighter critical after road rage shooting

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office has closed US1 South (northbound) from Watson Road, North to Southwood Road while they investigate an alleged road rage shooting incident.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office closed the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 1 South between Watson Road and Southwood Road on Friday night while they investigated an alleged road rage shooting incident.

Police said the incident involved two men in separate cars with their families inside their vehicles at the time.

Sources confirm that the man shot in the incident was a firefighter with Flagler County. He is listed in critical condition at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center.

Police said the road would be closed while they investigate.  It reopened overnight, but no other information was released.
