DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -

Police say a man found naked on the roof of the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach was beaten to death.

Daytona Beach police on Monday identified the man as 30-year-old transient Dylan Thomas Tharp. A maintenance worker found Tharp's body Saturday afternoon.

According to authorities, Tharp died of multiple blunt force trauma to the head. Police Chief Mike Chitwood says Tharp was killed at the scene.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports Tharp was wanted on an arrest warrant from Stokes County, N.C. Records show Tharp also had been in trouble in Daytona Beach, where police had arrested him in May, September and October on various misdemeanor charges.

Investigators are searching for a suspect.
