Police say a local man contacted police because he said he thinks he found a human skull while fishing.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Police say a local man contacted police because he said he thinks he found a human skull while fishing.

According to police, Frank Risk was fishing out in Sisters Creek on Wednesday night and found what appeared to be a human skull.

The man brought the alleged skull back to his home off Baymeadows Road and then called police.

Risk told police he found the possible skull stuck in the mud. Jacksonville Sheriff's detectives told Channel 4 that the skull will be taken to the medical examiner's office Thursday morning for investigation.
