JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A 44-year-old Jacksonville man is charged with murder in the stabbing death of his 28-year-old neighbor Wednesday night, according to Jacksonville police.

Police said Travis Watkins was at Jeremiah Brooks' house in the 8200 block of Dandy Avenue in Arlington when the two got into an argument and Watkins pushed Brooks.

Brooks said if he wanted to fight, "let's take it outside," according to a police report. Police said Brooks did go outside, and Watkins picked up a knife and followed him.

After the stabbing, Watkins threw the knife over Brooks' house, went home and told his wife he'd stabbed someone and was going to jail, according to police.

Brooks died at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center.
