A police officer and another driver were briefly hospitalized after a crash Tuesday morning at the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and Beaver Street, but neither was seriously injured.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office told Channel 4 a police cruiser was going through the intersection about 7:30 a.m. when it was struck by a car turning from Beaver onto Edgewood on a red light.

The officer was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital to be checked out and the woman driver of the second vehicle was also taken to a hospital.  Their names were not released at the scene.
