A Putnam County couple faces identity theft and fraud charges related to their mobile pet clinic.

John and Judy Tabor were arrested Wednesday after months of investigation by the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

According to court documents, they run the Pet Care a Van and Pet Caravan in St. Johns and Putnam counties, which prosecutors said they licensed with fraudulent information.

The state attorney's office said the couple, through multiple ID theft schemes, established a line of credit, and that's how they created their business and bought the homes and cars. They are not registered veterinarians in Florida.

It's not required to be a licensed veterinarian to own a mobile pet clinic in Florida, but the pet clinic have a licensed veterinarian on staff at each mobile location.

Judy Tabor fraudulently obtained a limited services veterinary medicine license under the false identity, investigators said.

She faces a total of 16 felony charges. Her bail was set at $875,000.

John Tabor faces fraud and ID theft charges in Putnam and St. Johns counties, including five felonies.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.

An arraignment date was not immediately scheduled.
