JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

An SUV on Atlantic Boulevard in front of Assumption Catholic Church struck a school bus crossing the road Wednesday morning.

No students were on the school bus, and two Durham School Services employees on board were not hurt. A 2-year-old inside the SUV was checked by Jacksonville Fire-Rescue, but it wasn't known if the girl required hospitalization.

The child's father, Michael Craig, said the bus pulled in front of him.

"I guess they decided to cross four lanes of traffic ... and there was no way I could stop," Craig said.

No one from the bus company would discuss the crash, which was being investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
