Robert Young appears in court.

A registered sex offender pleaded guilty Monday morning to molesting a 9-year-old girl whose parents have already been convicted of allowing the abuse to happen.

Robert Young's case was set to go to trial this week.

Prosecutors said evidence showed that between August 2010 and March 2011, Young sexually abused the girl. They said he was allowed to stay in her home and also allowed to sleep with her in her room.

Young is one of five people arrested in the case. Christopher Perry, the girl's father was convicted earlier this month on five counts of sexual battery, one count of lewd or lascivious molestation, one count of child neglect and one count of conspiracy to commit sexual battery. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Perry's wife, Mary, pleaded guilty in August to charges of child neglect and conspiracy to commit sexual battery. She was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

As for the other co-defendants, Michael Halveland pleaded guilty in July to lewd or lascivious molestation. He will be sentenced in December. The trial date for Patricia Woloszynowski, the girl's grandmother, has not been set.

Young faces life in prison. He will be sentenced Dec. 3.
