St. Johns County car burglary suspect arrested

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -

A man sought in connection with two car burglaries during the early morning hours of Jan. 28 has been identified and arrested.

Detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office began the investigation after receiving reports of two car burglaries in the 300 block of Elementary Way.

Deputies said two handguns, along with other property was stolen from the victims' vehicles.

One of the victim's security cameras captured images of the suspect and the vehicle used during the burglaries.

Richard Palmer, 24, of St. Augustine, was identified by Detective Jerry Montague and arrested on charges of burglary and grand theft.

Investigators said they recovered the handguns and other property that was stolen from the vehicles.
