Student's body found along hiking trail

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -

Investigators are trying to find out who killed a high school student whose body was found along a hiking trail in central Florida.

Winter Haven police say injuries on the body of Alicia Barnett, 18, indicate she was killed. Her body was found Monday along the Chain of Lakes Trail.

The Orlando Sentinel reports the teen attended New Beginnings, which is a charter school for students who had problems in traditional schools.

No further details were immediately available.
