Sympathy for bullied bus monitor

The online outrage over the bullying of a school bus monitor has lead to sympathy for the 68-year-old woman. Many say the viral video of a senior reduced to tears by middle school students is heartbreaking to watch.

Karen Klein is a bus monitor in Greece, NY. She makes around $15k a year- which many say is not nearly enough to put up with the profanity and insults thrown at her about her weight, hearing air and sweat glands.
The video has prompted an online fund set up to raise money for Klein. The goal was to raise $5,000 so Klein could enjoy a "recovery vacation".
It's only been a day since the fund was set up and the site has already generated over $450,000 -with that amount going up by the minute.

Klein says she was deeply touched and overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for her.
School district officials said they had received more than 1,000 calls and at least 5,000 e-mails from people all over the world, expressing dismay over the incident.

Police say four students were involved in the bullying. The investigation is continuing and Klein could change her mind and decide to press charges, he said.

But Klein said while she's not seeking criminal charges, she wants the boys to be punished. However, she said, she does not believe they are bad kids.
