A 19-year-old Jacksonville man has been found guilty of attempted second-degree murder in the shooting of another man in October 2010.

Prosecutors said Raymond Austin Jr., then 17, shot Carl Davis in the chest after Davis was lured to a Jacksonville parking lot.

Austin's co-defendant, Shanda Merritt, was Davis' ex-girlfriend. She will to trial on the attempted murder charge in August.

Austin faces a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years in prison. His sentencing is set for the week of July 30.

The teen is expected to go to trial this fall on charges of kidnapping, armed robbery and first-degree murder of 83-year-old Charles Soukup in 2010.

Austin, Merritt and two others are charged with kidnapping Soukup from the Jacksonville International Airport and killing him. Soukup's body was found near the airport.
