NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -

A 17-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a tractor-trailer Thursday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Destiny Roberts, of Hilliard, was walking westbound in the parking lane of northbound U.S. Highway 1 just south of West Fourth Street about 6:30 a.m.

Roberts was taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
