Teen shot to death in Arlington apartment

A 19 year-old is dead in Arlington after he was shot at the Summer Oaks Apartments in Arlington. Police say two suspects are still on the run


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Homicide detectives spent Monday night investigating the third fatal shooting in the Arlington area in four days.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Lt. Rob Schoonover said 19-year-old Tommy McDowell Jr. was visiting the Summer Oak Apartments at 5350 Arlington Expressway about 7:30 p.m. when two other men came to the door.

Schoonover said the men got into a scuffle and McDowell was shot and killed.

Investigators said other people inside the apartment at the time of the shooting were not hurt.

Police were searching for two men, but no descriptions were available.

Anyone with any information about the killing is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and could receive a $1,000 cash reward if an arrest is made.
