The 11th annual Florida Black Expo took over the Prime Osborn Convention Center on Saturday. The event brings together thousands of people in the community for a day of food, music and fun.
Organizers said they expect anywhere from 17,000 to 20,000 people to attend this year. Simona Lacoste traveled from Georgia.
"It was mainly just about being here." said Lacoste.
Attendees to this year's event experienced a little bit of everything. Vendors from nearly every sector, businesses big or small.
"It gives those groups in our community the opportunity to work together to really celebrate what makes them unique and also what makes their community a valued addition to this total community." said Darrin Thomas, Florida Black Expo host.
Paula Howard brought her handmade jewelry out for the second year in a row. "Last year was such a success for my company and my business, and just to be around other entrepreneurs it was awesome." said Howard.
In addition to the vendor, there is also live entertainment. BET's Bobby Jones will emcee the gospel competition, R&B singer Eric Benet will perform Saturday night.
Channel 4 is a proud sponsor of this event.
