GAINESVILLE, Fla. -

Police at the University of Florida are warning of an attempted sexual assault on campus.

UF's alert system sent out a message Monday night regarding the attempted sexual assault near Weimer Hall, which is the College of Journalism and Communications.

The alert sent the description of a white man in his early 20s wearing a tall, dark shirt, khaki shorts, and armed with a knife.

The message said the man left on foot.

Campus police plan to increase patrols.

If you have any information on a possible suspect, call the University Police Department.
