JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Police say the 23-year-old man shot and killed after a disturbance Monday afternoon at the Madison at Savannah Oaks Apartment Homes on the Westside was a resident of the complex.

On Wednesday, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Harold Woodard.

Homicide Sgt. Dan Jansen said gunshots were heard after an altercation about 2 p.m. at the complex on Roosevelt Boulevard.

Police say Woodard died en route to a hospital and whoever did the shooting was at large.

Detectives were questioning witnesses, but said Monday night it was too early to know what the disturbance was about or a motive for the shooting.  No additional information on the case was released Wednesday.

This was the 11th murder in Jacksonville in December and the 89th of 2012.

Anyone with information that could help police find this gunman is asked to call 866-845-TIPS.
