George Brown

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A 60-year-old man was sentenced Tuesday afternoon to indefinite confinement at the Florida Civil Commitment Center in Arcadia.

In 1980, George Brown was convicted on two counts of lewd, lascivious or indecent act upon a minor child. Brown forced an 11-year-old girl to have sex with a 13-year-old boy. When the boy refused to comply, Brown then sexually abused the girl.

Brown was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the crime.

Experts have reviewed Brown's case file and found that Brown suffers from a personality disorder that makes him likely to engage in acts of sexual violence, prosecutors said.

After hearing all of the evidence at trial, a jury found Brown is a violent sexual predator and should be housed at the commitment center.
