Worth County woman arrested in husband's death

SYLVESTER, Ga. -

Officials in Worth County have identified a 52-year-old woman who was arrested in her husband's death.

WALB-TV reported Jannie Mae Tweedy was arrested in the Christmas Eve shooting death of 57-year-old Carl Tweedy.

Authorities say Carl Tweedy suffered multiple gunshot wounds late Monday night and died at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Jannie Mae Tweedy Sheriff's officials say the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute, and Jannie Tweedy is being held without bond on a felony murder charge in the Worth County Jail.

Tweedy had not been arraigned as of Wednesday afternoon, and it was not immediately clear if she had a lawyer.

Sylvester is about 20 miles east of Albany.
