Wreck blocks Roosevelt near I-295

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A head-on crash on Roosevelt Boulevard between NAS Jacksonville and U.S. 17 sent three people to area hospitals with serious injuries and blocked the southbound lanes of Roosevelt for more than two hours Friday afternoon and

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Shanna Winter, 27, of Jacksonville, was headed north when her Hyundai Sonata crossed the median and struck a southbound Dodge pickup truck driven by Rachel Clinton, 40, of Middleburg.

Winter and passenger Taryea Jakes, 35, were taken to Orange Park Medical Center.

Clinton was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital.

Troopers say charges are pending.
