JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two accidents a few miles apart on Interstate 95 on Friday afternoon backed up southbound traffic for miles.
About 2:30 p.m., police and firefighters responded to an accident hear the Philips Highway exit with a report of someone trapped in a vehicle. No information was available yet on victims. Two of three southbound lanes were blocked by the wreck and emergency vehicles for about 30 minutes.

About an hour earlier, a wreck in the southbound lanes of I-95 near Baymeadows Road backed up traffic to the Fuller Warren Bridge. No details were available about injuries from that wreck.
