JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -

Some light showers couldn't keep the dogs off the beach for the annual Chariots of Fur, a Positively Jax event at the Sea Walk Pavilion.

The event is a 5K run-walk on the beach, plus a one-mile Doggie Dash Fun Run, with or without the pooches.

The event benefits Saint Francis Animal Hospital in San Marco.

"This is about supporting St. Francis Animal Hospital," said Sandy Golding. "We provide affordable care to all owned pets in Jacksonville. With this run we can raise money to provide care for pets in need. We have a lot of people who come who may be struggling financially, but their pets need help. Because we're a non profit, we're able to help them through donations."
