Back-to-school immunizations offered

DOH kicks off campaign to get students immunized for school

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida Department of Health in Duval County has launched its "Go to the Head of the Class: Back-to-School Immunizations and Physicals," campaign to assist parents and families with preparing for the upcoming school year.

DOH-Duval encourages all parents and guardians to check the immunization status and school requirements for their children.

As children and families across Duval County prepare to start another school year, it is vital that all students have their required immunizations and current physical examination forms.

DOH-Duval Immunizations Center, 5220 North Pearl Street, is offering the following Back-to-School services:

Walk-in services for all required School Immunizations:

Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

2nd and 4th Wednesday
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

For those parents and families in need of School Physicals, walk-in services are also available:

July 8 – August 21

Tuesdays and Thursdays
8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

$30 per exam
(no sports physicals)

"We encourage everyone to update their child's immunizations and physicals early, and not wait for the school rush," said DOH-Duval Director Dr. Kelli Wells. "There is no time like the present!"
