Denny Monds
GLEN ST. MARY, Fla. -

The Baker County Sheriff said a missing man he and his deputies had been searching for has been found safe in Marion County.

Deputies had been searching for Denny Monds, of Glen St. Mary, since Friday. His family members reported him missing after not seeing him since Wednesday.

Detectives were concerned because the man had health issues and was not known to leave his home without telling anyone.

Sheriff Joey Dobson said a tip on Facebook led investigators to the man Monds was with. That's when they found out the two friends were actually on a fishing trip nearl Ocala. Dobson said the man had lied to Monds's family about the 57-year-old's whereabouts when they were looking for him.

Dobson said charges against Monds's friend are pending further investigation.
