Line at Magic Kingdom

ORLANDO, Fla. -

Thousands are pouring into the Central Florida theme parks for New Year's Eve celebrations on Tuesday as Magic Kingdom has closed to some guests due to capacity.

According to WDWMagic.com, at Magic Kingdom, some guests had to be turned away less than 2 hours after the park opened as part of phased closings.

As of Tuesday afternoon, resort guests, annual passholders and people with certain reservations are being allowed in the Magic Kingdom. People trying to buy their tickets at the gate on Tuesday are being turned away and being encouraged to visit other Disney parks.

To make up for the inconvenience, Disney is giving the turned away guests free parking and 50 percent off of dining, according to WDWMagic.com.

Some lines are as long as four hours to ride one attraction. Guests can monitor wait times by downloading the My Disney Experience App.
