JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Blue Man Group was out of costume and out of character Wednesday afternoon.
It took some time from its tour to visit students at Lavilla School of the Arts downtown. The group spoke with students about communication through music and even taught some lessons through hands-on demonstrations with students.

The Blue Men told the students that the most important thing is to be passionate about what they're doing.
"It's just a pleasure to be a part of something, come to a community and show up and be a part of the artistic portion of that community, especially with kids. And we try to do that as much as possible," said Brian Taverner, of the Blue Man Group. "The show is about community and about injecting the Blue Man spirit into the area we're in, and this is just another vehicle to do this."
"It's weird. I thought they were all bald and I heard something like they wax each other. That's not true," said Spencer Shack, a junior at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. "It was just really cool to see the transformation from human to Blue Man."
