LAUDERHILL, Fla. -

Authorities say a fire broke out at a South Florida apartment killing a young boy.

Lauderhill police say 8-year-old Jayden Isme and his brother,9-year-old Justin Isme, were left home alone.

According to authorities the nine year-old was able to escape.  Authorities say Justin jumped from a second story window.  Jayden was not able to escape leaving his body to be found by firefighters.

A spokesman for the police department says it's possible the parents of the boys could face criminal charges.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
