Burglar who stole gun, cash at St. Augustine auto repair shop sought

Police: Burglar tried to disable motion sensors, cameras

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A burglar caught stealing from a St. Augustine auto repair shop is being sought by police.

The break-in happened at 3 a.m. Tuesday at the AA Foreign Auto Repair at 2203 N. Ponce de Leon Blvd.

While inside the business, the burglar stole a .38 caliber handgun and cash, authorities said.

St. Augustine police said he appeared to have knowledge of the auto repair shop, because he tried to disable the motion sensors and cameras.

The burglar, described by police as a black male, was wearing a gray tank-top shirt and red shorts. Police said he has a tattoo on his right arm with letters "F L A."
