Officers said a window to the business was broken and several items were moved.  The owner said it didn't appear anything was stolen.

A surveillance image showed a man wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and black pants with a white stripe.

Two weeks later on Dec. 11, employees at Complete Automotive called police because they saw a man wearing the same clothes across the street at the Dollar General.

An officer then saw Benz walking home in the Five Points area.  He was taken in for questioning and confessed to the crime, LCPD said.

"Due to the watchful eyes of the victim business, this suspect was captured.  This is another great example of our citizens, patrol officers and investigators working together to combat crime in our community," said Chief Argatha Gilmore.

Benz was released on a $10,000 bond.
