Car catches fire after crash

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a car crash that resulted in a fire Thursday morning.

FHP Sergeant Dylan Bryan said a collision happened on Emerson Street, right under the Interstate 95 southbound overpass in Jacksonville. FHP was dispatched to the scene around 10:30 a.m.

A white car involved in the crash was engulfed in flames soon after the collision. Bryan said the vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

FHP is investigating the details surrounding the accident and how the car caught on fire.

No injuries have been reported.

All lanes are open on Emerson Street under the I-95 southbound overpass.
