Car crashed crashed through fence on University Blvd.

VIDEO: Investigators say a driver headed northbound on University Boulevard crashed into a family's fence, nearly missing the house in Arlington. The driver went to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Monday morning a car traveling northbound on University Boulevard crashed dangerously close to a home.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the car ran off University Blvd, crashed through a fence and then stopped just feet from the home. The car damaged the yard and patio furniture, but the home was not damaged.

The driver of the vehicle, who has not been identified, was transported to UF Health with life threatening injuries. The people inside were upstairs sleeping and no one was hurt.

JSO Traffic Homicide is still investigating. They said, as of right now, it is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
