JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A car went into a retention ditch downtown Tuesday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

The accident happened at West Union and North Madison streets just before 3 p.m. when a woman lost control of her car, drove through a gate and into what's designed to be a retention pond, but there's no water in it.

The woman was not injured, and the car was removed from the ditch.
