Chick-fil-A managers help find runaway

Managers shared photo of employee, girl online to find teen

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Florida couple is thanking Chick-fil-A for finding and returning their runaway daughter.

Steve and Tammy Harp found a note last week from their 16-year-old daughter, Kaitlyn Harp, saying she had left home with a 19-year-old man she met online. The only clue the Harps found about where their daughter might be was a photo they found on Instagram, which showed the girl hugging a young man who was wearing a Chick-fil-A shirt, according to USA Today.

The parents went to a Chick-fil-A in Jacksonville to ask whether any workers knew the man or anything about their daughter. They didn't, but managers helped them get in touch with another store, which led to the photos being posted on a Facebook page for Chick-fil-A managers, USA Today reported.

A manager in Winter Haven recognized the employee the same day. Manager Elio Florin told the employee, identified as Daniel Bridgeman, to have Kaitlyn Harp call her parents. Florin then drove the teen the 200 miles back home, returning her to her parents at about 2:30 the next morning, the newspaper reported.

Bridgeman won't face charges, but did get a "stern lecture" from police, according to USA Today.
