Fisherman finds body of missing swimmer

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. -

Fernandina Beach police tell Channel 4 a fisherman has found the body of a woman who was missing sinceĀ  9:45 p.m. Friday night.

Police say the woman was swimming with three friends at North Fletcher Beach.

The woman's name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

Coast Guard crews searched for the 51-year-old woman late Friday and Early Saturday.

The Coast Guard used a helicopter crew from Air Station Savannah, Georgia, the Coast Guard Cutter Kingfisher and a Coast Guard Auxiliary airplane. The Nassau County Sheriff's Office and Fernandina Beach police assisted in the search.
