PLAYERS
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Mayor Alvin Brown joined Matt Rapp, executive director of The Players Championship, and downtown stakeholders gathered Wednesday morning to officially kick off the countdown to the area's biggest golfing event.

The group then continued the tradition introduced last year by painting the iconic Players Championship “Gold Man” insignia in front of City Hall.

Visit Jacksonville president and CEO Paul Astleford and interim sports and entertainment director Joel Lamp were in attendance.

The event was held at the front steps of City Hall, located at 117 West Duval St.
